Step 1: Cleaning Your Container

Option 1: Boiling Water
Supplies needed: boiling water, butter knife/spoon, soap, sponge
Simply boil some water and pour it into your container. Let the water cool completely. The hot water will cause the wax to melt and float to the top. Once the water is cool, remove the wax. Repeat if some wax remains in the container or use a butter knife/spoon to scrape out the remaining wax.
Finally, clean the container with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. You also want to remove the label from the top of the container, as well as the sticker on the base.

Option 2: Use Your Freezer
Supplies needed: freezer, butter knife/spoon, soap, sponge
Put your empty container in the freezer for 2-3 hours. As the wax freezes, it hardens and shrinks away from the sides of the container. When you take it out of the freezer, the wax will either pop out naturally or you can easily break it with a butter knife or spoon.
Once all the wax has been removed, wash the container with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. You also want to remove the label from the top of the container, as well as the sticker on the base.
Step 2: Drop Off or Shipping
Before packing your containers, please ensure:

All residual wax and wicks have been removed.

All labels have been removed (no sticky residue).

The containers are clean (no wax or soot)
and there are no dents or damage to the containers.

A: Yes, please return both the container and the lid.
Q: Who pays for shipping?
A: At this time, shipping is NOT covered by White Deer.
Q: How will I get my free candle?
A: Once your containers are received and inspected, you'll receive a discount code that will allow you to purchase one free candle. Shipping is not included.
Q: Can I drop off my empty containers if I live in Vancouver?
A: Absolutely! If you live in the Lower Mainland and would like to drop off your clean, empty containers instead of shipping them, please contact us and we can arrange a time for you to do that.
